The meaning of Hajj
Hajj gathers Muslims from across the world in a shared state of worship. The pilgrim leaves ordinary clothing, status and routine behind and enters ihram with humility. The journey remembers Prophet Ibrahim عليه السلام, Hajar عليها السلام and Prophet Ismail عليه السلام, and it follows the guidance taught by the Prophet ﷺ.
"The reward of Hajj Mabrur is nothing except Paradise." Sahih al-Bukhari 1773
Intention and ihram
Before crossing the miqat, the pilgrim makes intention for Hajj and enters ihram. Intention is in the heart. The talbiyah is recited often: Labbayka Allahumma labbayk... The pilgrim avoids the restrictions of ihram and focuses on dhikr, patience and good conduct.

Key rituals
The main Hajj rites include ihram, standing at Arafat, staying at Muzdalifah, stoning the Jamarat, sacrifice, shaving or trimming, tawaf, sa'i where applicable and farewell tawaf. Your exact order can vary based on programme, crowd movement and scholarly guidance followed by the group.
Preparation
Prepare physically and spiritually. Walk before travel, learn the sequence, keep medicines ready, pack light, settle debts and family responsibilities, and make sincere du'a that the Hajj is accepted.
